The market will close at 5:30pm on 24th December and will be closed all day on 25th December.

Location

You’ll find us in the Ancient Market Place (KT1 1JS) in the centre of the town between Clarence Street and High Street. The area is fully pedestrianised.

Travel Options

Travelling on foot

Located in South West London, you’ll find us just a short walk from Kingston Bridge and Riverside Walk.

Travelling by bicycle

Travelling by Bus or Coach

Kingston-upon-Thames is well served by public transport with over 40 bus routes serving the town centre. To plan your journey, visit tfl.gov.uk.

Travelling by Rail

Kingston rail station is only 25 minutes from London Waterloo and is in TFL Zone 6. 

It’s approx a 7-8 minute walk from the train station to the Ancient Market Place. 

Directions from Kingston Train Station to the Ancient Market Place

When leaving the station, cross over the road and walk down Fife Road, turning left by Bentalls Centre. Turn right onto Clarence Street by Hema, then take a left just before our huge Christmas tree. From there, you’ll see our sparkling vintage carousel with the market just beyond it.

Directions from Surbiton Train Station to the Ancient Market Place

Exit the train station towards Surbiton town centre. Head straight over the road in front of you, and walk down Claremont Road. Turn right by the traffic lights onto Maple Road. Take the second left onto Surbiton Road.  

Take a left onto Surbiton Road to walk into town along the river, or continue along the main road onto Penrhyn Road. Turn left at the roundabout and right into St James’s Road. Turn left onto Eden Street and the second right into the Ancient Market Place.

It’s an approx 27-minute walk from Surbiton Train Station to the Christmas Market.

Travelling by Road

The roads around Kingston can be particularly busy throughout the Christmas season, so we highly recommend the use of public transport.

We are just 12 miles from central London, 8 miles from the M25, 6 miles from the M3 and 4.3 miles from the A3. 

We’re also only 7.4 miles from Heathrow Airport.

Kingston Christmas Market can include flashing lights, loud noises and flash photography throughout the festive season.

Site Description

Our market can be located in the Ancient Market Place, which has brick tile paving. Some of our market stalls require a ramp to gain access. Please find a member of staff (we’ll be wearing red fleeces with Kingston Christmas Market embroidered on the front) who will be able to provide a ramp for you to access the stall.

Toilets

The nearest accessible toilet is in the Bentalls Centre, which is approx 0.1 miles or a 2-minute walk from the Ancient Market Place. 

You’ll also find an accessible toilet in O’Neill’s (3 Eden Street, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, KT1 1BQ), which is also a 2-minute walk from the Ancient Market Place.
